Dear Friends,

This spring brings performances of some of my orchestral, chamber and choral music. At the end of March and beginning of April the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, under artistic director Gil Rose, will perform The Saints, for orchestra with optional audience participation, at Jordan Hall in Boston and at Amherst College. BMOP is recognized as the leading orchestra in the United States devoted exclusively to 20th and 21st century music. Also in early April Boston Musica Viva, directed by Richard Pittman, will perform Crossing the Meridian with tenor Charles Blandy. This piece was commissioned by the ensemble in 1982 and has been recorded by them. The following day cellist Volcy Pelletier will play my solo cello piece Cry on a Sage Chamber Music Society faculty recital at Smith College. And on June first the New Amsterdam Singers, Clara Longstreth music director, will give the New York premiere of When Music Sounds for mixed chorus and piano on poems of de la Mere, Shelley and Dickinson. I hope you can come to one of these events.

With all best wishes for 2017,

The Saints by Ronald Perera
